Geoff has 20 years’ experience in the insurance broking industry. He has worked for the three large international broking firms, in both London and New Zealand, transacting business in New Zealand, Australia, Asia and UK/Europe.

​

Geoff has serviced some of New Zealand’s top Corporate and State-Owned Enterprises, managing complex insurance placements. He has extensive experience of designing, purchasing, and implementing multi-jurisdictional Property/Business Interruption and Construction Insurance Programmes.

​

He strongly believes that privately owned businesses have the same complex exposures and need for quality risk advice as large corporate firms.

​

Geoff is passionate about discussing people’s businesses and their personal drivers, in order to deliver a tailored insurance solution.

​

Outside of work, Geoff enjoys spending time on the water, whether it be game fishing or boating with his two children. He is an avid (but below par) golfer and has an unhealthy obsession with motorsport.

Prior to establishing Long Burroughs, David worked for two of the large international broking firms in Auckland, transacting business in New Zealand and Australia. David specialises in advising on all aspects of liability risk and provides detailed contractual risk mitigation advice and specialised insurance solutions. His expertise in these areas is enhanced and complemented by his law degree. David has comprehensive experience advising professional service firms, publicly listed companies, and privately owned businesses, across various industries.

​David always takes the time to make sure his clients fully understand their legal landscape and risk exposures. His forward thinking and advice-first mantra is central to the Long Burroughs offering.

Clinton has a clear goal of promoting empowerment for every client. He believes in providing focused attention to understand what drives you, your business and the industry in which you operate.

With over 25 years’ experience working for some of NZ’s best performing insurers and brokers, Clinton has developed an ethos which advocates for positive client outcomes. 

Bryce joined Long Burroughs as a Life & Health Advisor in (Yr), having previously (Old job).

Bryce specialises in risk protection for individuals just starting their careers, to families planning for their future, or businesses looking to safeguard their people and assets.

What sets Bryce apart is his genuine commitment to the long-term wellbeing of his clients. Bryce takes the time to understand each client’s unique circumstances, developing tailored plans backed by a high standard of service and ongoing support.

Gemma has been in the insurance industry for 12 years, spending 8 of those years at Long Burroughs. Gemma has experience in managing the insurance broking and service requirements for both private and commercial customers. A high level of advice, care and understanding of every individual’s insurance requirements is central to her service proposition.

Gemma also manages the operational aspects of Long Burroughs, assisting the Partners with projects, workflows, compliance and helping grow our people. 

​

Outside of the office, Gemma loves spending precious time with friends and family. She enjoys an adventure, being active, and is also a passionate advocate for female cricket, both as an athlete on the field, and actively behind the scenes. 

Willow joined Long Burroughs in January 2022, forming an important part of our Commercial Property Team. Willow has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years, with experience in both New Zealand and Australia. ​

​

During her career, Willow has undertaken a variety of roles across the industry and worked for several insurance companies and loss adjusting firms. Her experience not only includes insurance broking and risk advisory services to commercial clients but also claim management for domestic and commercial clients. These skills make Willow a key member of our commercial team. 

​

​On the weekends Willow enjoys spending time at the beach, on the water, exploring our beautiful country and spending time with family. 

Mitch joined the Long Burroughs team in January 2022. Over the last five years he has gained experience working in both the Marine and Liability insurance sectors, in the UK and New Zealand respectively. ​

​

Having previously worked as an underwriter and a claims handler, Mitch has a strong understanding of the genuine liability risk exposures that clients face, developing tailored insurance solutions, and satisfying insurer requirements. 

​

Outside of the office, Mitch will most often be found out on the water, hiking one of NZ’s Great Walks or rustling something up in the kitchen. 

Brandon joined Long Burroughs in September 2025, bringing over seven years of experience in the insurance industry. He began his career with direct insurers before moving into broking, where he has worked across a broad range of insurance classes. His focus has included liability lines as well as the fire and general side of aviation, supporting clients in both local and international markets. 

​

With a background in handling niche and non-standard risks, Brandon enjoys working with businesses of all types and sizes. He takes pride in providing clear, practical advice and building long-term relationships based on trust and results. 

​

Outside of work, Brandon can be found on one of the local golf courses or out fishing. 

Spending over 10 years in the industry, Cara has experience across the entire insurance market, with previous roles in both underwriting and broking, as well as starting her journey in a law firm. Cara’s experience is not limited to New Zealand, having also spent time in the industry across the ditch, in Australia. 

​

Cara works alongside Geoff Long in the property team, and prides herself on delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring client needs are met in a timely and accurate manner. 

​

In her spare time, Cara is kept busy as a mum to her young son, and her weekends are filled with adventure and creativity, as she can be found exploring local beaches, crafting, and preparing delicious food! 

Geoff services the Long Burroughs private client portfolio. For more than 10 years, Geoff has worked in both the Private and Commercial insurance sectors, working closely with SMEs and their related personal insurances. ​

​

​With insurance as a family trade, Geoff has always had an interest in the area of risk management and has found that a client with less to worry about, both in their private and professional space, has more freedom to focus on the important things. 

​

In his spare time, Geoff enjoys ticking travel destinations off the bucket list, and when weather permits, can be found lying in the sun for 5 days straight, in support of the Black Caps Test Cricket team. 

Naomi has been working in the insurance industry for over 20 years, with both domestic and commercial insurance clients. She is a pivotal member of the Long Burroughs Wellington team, ensuring quality of service standards and processes at all times. 

​

With a background as an underwriter, Naomi understands the importance of gaining a full picture of every client’s situation to provide the most appropriate insurance solutions. 

​

She is committed to helping clients clearly understand what they are insured for and ensuring they feel confident in their cover. 

​

When not at work, Naomi enjoys spending time with family, exploring New Zealand’s great outdoors, and discovering new recipes in the kitchen. 

After completing a bachelor’s degree in economics and management with honours, Nathan began his career at a UK law firm, gaining valuable professional experience before seeking a change of scenery. He then transitioned into insurance broking, where he has spent the past year developing his industry knowledge and client service expertise. Committed to continuous learning and professional development, Nathan takes pride in delivering a high standard of service and building lasting client relationships. ​

Outside of work, Nathan is passionate about fitness and the outdoors, a former competitive swimmer who now enjoys open-water swimming, hiking mountains, and discovering a good viewpoint. A keen swimming fan, drawing on his history with the sport, he’s also a massive Manchester United supporter who never misses a game. Currently working towards an Ironman. 

With 11 years of experience in the insurance industry, and holding a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Prashana brings a strong depth of knowledge across domestic, commercial, and health insurance.

Currently a key member of our Domestic insurance team, Prashana is passionate about helping clients find the right cover with confidence and clarity. 

​

Outside of work, she enjoys exploring New Zealand with her son, trying new recipes, and embracing new adventures, whether that’s discovering a new walking track, café, or family-friendly getaway. 

Will joined the Long Burroughs team in August 2024. He previously relocated to Auckland from the South Island after completion of his Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Accounting at the University of Otago. Prior to joining Long Burroughs, Will gained experience with a global insurance brokerage, predominantly operating in the commercial property space. 

​

Will is dedicated to remaining at the forefront of the dynamic insurance market through continuous professional development. He is enthusiastic about exploring the diverse spectrum of insurance products and devising tailored solutions that address specific needs of our clients. 

​

​Outside of the office, Will is a dedicated sports enthusiast, often found at Eden Park enjoying both All Blacks test matches and passionately supporting his favourite Super Rugby team. His commitment to an active lifestyle extends beyond the stadium, as he takes full advantage of Auckland’s abundant natural beauty. Will enjoys exploring the city’s extensive network of nature walks and parks, reflecting his appreciation for both outdoor adventure and the vibrant environment Auckland has to offer. 

Nick joined the Long Burroughs team in 2025. With over 46 years in the industry, Nick has extensive experience as both broker and underwriter. Prior to Long Burroughs, Nick served 32 years at Gallaghers formally known as Crombie Lockwood. Serving as Auckland branch manager for many of those years, including being a founding staff member for Crombie Lockwood in the Auckland region.  

Thomas has over 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry, previously working with a large Insurance company in New Zealand. With a postgraduate degree in Statistics, Thomas is now an active member of our Liability Insurance Team, managing the day-to-day administrative requirements of Long Burroughs Clients, and in particular, servicing those in the Design sector. 

​

Thomas has a curious mindset and is passionate about protecting clients' interests. On his way to achieving a Level 5 General Insurance qualification, he is eager to learn more about what the insurance broking world has to offer.  

​

When not at work, Thomas enjoys exploring all that New Zealand has to offer, whether that be walking the coast, or simply getting outside for a picnic, or a weekend event. He also loves to travel overseas, and most recently returned from backpacking Laos, Southeast Asia. 

Melissa plays a vital role in operations support at Long Burroughs, helping keep the engine of the business running smoothly. Working within the insurance team, she ensures policies and processes are managed efficiently while supporting colleagues to deliver a consistently high level of service to clients. 

Georgia is a recent graduate of the University of Otago, where she completed a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Marketing. 

​

As Marketing & Accounts Associate at Long Burroughs, she supports both the firm’s operational processes and marketing initiatives. She works closely with brand partners to drive growth through clear communication and creative, results-focused strategies. 

​

​Georgia is motivated to gain hands-on industry experience and apply the knowledge gained throughout her studies in a professional environment. 

Ethan is a Keystone Trust Alumni and is in his third year of a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Property Conjoint at the University of Auckland. His areas of interest are property syndication and development – but he has an overarching passion for anything and everything related to business. Ethan joined the Long Burroughs team in December to gain more skills and learn more about business-related insurance.

Outside of work and study, Ethan has a passion for cooking, history, and photographing European Supercars!
